Every product carries a 1-year defect warranty against manufacturing or material flaws. If something fails because of a defect inside the first year, we repair, replace, or refund — your call.

What the warranty covers

Every product we sell — tents, sleeping systems, packs, apparel, lights, hydration, cookware, and accessories — carries a 1-year defect warranty against manufacturing or material defects. If a piece of GemGear gear fails inside the first year of ownership because of a defect, we'll repair, replace, or refund — your call.

Coverage includes:

  • Defective seams, stitching, or welds
  • Pole or hardware failure caused by a manufacturing flaw
  • Zipper or buckle failure caused by defective materials
  • Insulation that compresses or shifts beyond normal break-in
  • Coatings or membranes that delaminate or fail

What the warranty doesn't cover

  • Normal wear and tear from real use
  • Accidental damage (drops, snags, abrasion, burns)
  • Damage from animals or weather extremes outside spec
  • Loss or theft
  • Gear modified or repaired by a third party
  • Coverage past the 1-year window

How to file a warranty claim

  1. Email support@gemgear.com with photos of the gear, your order number, and a quick description of what failed.
  2. We respond within two business days with a decision and next steps.
  3. If covered, we'll send a prepaid label, repair or replace, and ship it back at our cost.

Returns vs. warranty

If you bought something and it isn't right for you, that's a return — within 30 days, even if you took it on a trip. The warranty is for defects only.

Why we do it this way

The best gear is the gear you actually use. We want you to put GemGear products through real trips, not protect them on a shelf. The warranty handles defects up front; the rest is on the trail.
